1) Who We Are
ProQuizzers ("we", "us") operates an online platform for practice tests and learning (the "Service"). This policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use the Service.

- Account Data: username, email, password (hashed), optional display name, profile photo, bio.
- Learning Data: subjects attempted, test attempts, scores, accuracy, time taken, review notes, leaderboard position.
- Preference Data: theme (light/dark), notification settings.
- Technical Data: IP address, device/browser info, session cookies, error logs, approximate location (from IP) for fraud prevention and analytics.
- Payment Data (when purchasing Pro): transaction ID, payment status, masked card/UPI instrument info returned by our payment processor. We do not collect or store full card/UPI credentials.
3) How We Use Information
- Provide, personalize, and improve quizzes, results, and analytics.
- Authenticate users and maintain account security.
- Prevent fraud and ensure fair play (e.g., anti-cheat checks, abuse prevention).
- Send necessary communications (account notices, policy updates, purchase receipts). You can manage optional emails in Settings.
- Show ads to free users; Pro removes ads.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
4) Legal Bases (where applicable)
We rely on one or more of the following: (a) performance of a contract (to provide the Service); (b) legitimate interests (security, improvements, fraud prevention); (c) consent (optional emails, cookies beyond strictly necessary); (d) compliance with legal obligations.
5) Cookies & Local Storage
We use cookies for secure sessions and essential functions. Local storage is used for preferences like theme and quiz timer continuity. You can clear cookies/local storage in your browser; this may sign you out or reset timers.
6) Advertising & Analytics
Free users may see advertising (e.g., Google Ads). We use analytics to understand usage and improve the Service. These partners may set cookies or collect limited technical data as independent controllers; review their privacy notices for details. Pro removes ads.
7) Payments (Razorpay)
Paid features are processed via Razorpay Software Private Limited ("Razorpay"). We never store card numbers, CVV, UPI PIN, or net-banking credentials on our servers. Payment details are transmitted directly to Razorpay over encrypted connections. Razorpay may share with us limited transaction metadata (e.g., status, last 4 digits, instrument type) so we can activate/renew your plan.

8) Sharing of Information
- Service Providers: hosting, databases, email delivery, payments, analytics, and customer support, bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
- Legal & Safety: to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect users, our rights, or the public.
- Business Transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to this Policy.
We do not sell personal data.
9) Data Retention
We keep account and learning data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify associated personal data within a reasonable period, subject to legal/operational retention requirements (e.g., payment records, fraud-prevention logs).
10) Your Rights
- Access, correction, and deletion of your data (use Settings or contact us).
- Withdraw consent for optional processing (e.g., marketing emails).
- Portability/export of your data (see Settings → Your Data).
India (DPDP Act 2023): You may have rights to access, correction, grievance redressal, and to nominate another person in case of incapacity. Contact our Grievance Officer for assistance.
11) Security
We use industry-standard safeguards (TLS in transit, hashing for passwords, role-based access, logging). No method is 100% secure — use a strong password and keep credentials confidential.
12) International Transfers
Our service providers may process data in multiple countries. We take steps to ensure appropriate protection consistent with applicable laws.
13) Children
The Service is intended for users aged 13+. Younger users should use the Service under parental guidance and applicable school policies.
14) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy as we add features (e.g., calculators, games) or as laws change. If changes are significant, we will notify you in-app or via email. The latest version will always be available on this page.
