ProQuizzers ("we", "us", "our") operates the website and services at https://www.proquizzers.com (the "Service"). This Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

2) Information We Collect

• Account Data: username, email, password hash, display name, profile photo (if uploaded), bio.
• Learning & Usage Data: tests taken, answers, scores, timestamps, leaderboards, progress and settings.
• Preferences: theme, notification preferences, local preferences stored in cookies/local storage.
• Technical Data: IP address, device and browser information, cookies, crash/error logs, and approximate location derived from IP for security and analytics.
• Payment Data: For paid plans we store payment metadata (transaction ID, payment status, last 4 digits) provided by our payment processor (Razorpay). We do not collect or store full card numbers, CVV, or UPI PINs.
• User Content: quizzes and explanations you submit (including any images or media if you later enable uploads).

3) How We Use Information

• Provide and operate the Service (accounts, tests, scores).
• Personalize content and recommendations.
• Authenticate and secure accounts; prevent fraud and abuse.
• Send transactional and administrative messages (password resets, receipts, policy updates).
• Display ads to non-Pro users; analyze ad performance and site usage.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

4) Cookies, Local Storage, and Tracking

We use cookies and local storage for:

• Essential: session cookies, authentication, security (required).
• Preferences: theme, autosave drafts, UI settings.
• Analytics & Advertising: to measure site usage and show relevant ads.

5) Advertising & Analytics

We may display advertising from third parties, including Google AdSense. These advertising networks may use cookies and similar technologies to deliver and measure ads. We also use analytics (e.g., Google Analytics) to improve the Service. These third parties act as separate controllers with their own privacy practices — please review their policies for details.

Google AdSense Disclosure: Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website and other websites. Google’s use of the DoubleClick cookie enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to ProQuizzers and/or other sites on the Internet. Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.

If you prefer not to have your activity used for interest-based advertising, you can also adjust cookie settings in your browser or device. Users in regions where required will be shown a cookie consent banner to manage their preferences.

6) Payments (Razorpay)

Paid features are processed via Razorpay. Payment data (e.g., payment id, status, instrument type) is shared with us by Razorpay to enable billing and activate Pro status. For Razorpay’s privacy practices see their site. We do not store full payment credentials on our servers.

7) Sharing & Disclosure

• Service Providers: we share data with hosting, email, analytics, payments, and other vendors who process data on our behalf under contract.
• Legal & Safety: to comply with legal requests, respond to security threats, or enforce our Terms.
• Business transfers: in connection with mergers, acquisitions, or asset sales (we will notify you).

We do not sell personal data. If this changes we will provide notice and a way to opt out.

8) Data Retention

We retain account and learning data while you maintain an account. When you delete your account we will delete or anonymize personally identifiable data within a reasonable period subject to operational or legal requirements (for example, payment records may be retained for tax and audit for up to 7 years where required).

9) Your Choices & Rights

• Access, correct, or delete your account data via your Settings or by contacting us.
• Export your data using the export options in Settings.
• Unsubscribe from marketing emails via links in those emails.

10) Security

We use industry standard measures such as TLS for data in transit, password hashing, and role-based access. While we take reasonable measures, no system is completely secure — please keep your credentials safe and use a strong password.

11) Children

The Service is intended for users aged 13+. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe we have collected such data, contact us to request deletion.

12) International Transfers

We and our providers may process data in various countries. We take steps to ensure an appropriate level of protection consistent with applicable laws.

13) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy. We will post the revised Policy with a new effective date. If changes are material, we may notify you by email or in-app.
